According to Dealogic data, the global issuance of Euro-denominated bonds by borrowers reached a record high in 2025, increasing by almost one-fifth compared to the previous year. This reflects a growing trend of investors seeking alternatives to the US dollar. Dealogic data shows that so far this year, issuing institutions have raised over $2.2 trillion through the issuance of Euro-denominated bonds, a growth of over 19% compared to 2024. This marks the third consecutive year of growth in Euro bond supply, although the growth rate has slightly slowed down compared to the nearly 21% increase in 2024. The surge in Euro bond issuance may reflect investors' desire to diversify away from reliance on US dollar bonds. Dealogic did not specify whether the total of $2.2 trillion includes sovereign bonds and corporate bonds.
