Japanese Finance Minister warns that action will be taken against excessive fluctuations in the currency market.

Japanese Finance Minister Koizumi Katsukiyo stated on Friday that Tokyo will take appropriate measures to address any excessive fluctuations in the foreign exchange market. Koizumi, speaking after attending a virtual meeting of G7 finance ministers, said, "We clearly see one-sided large fluctuations in the foreign exchange market in just half a day or a few hours." She added, "We will respond appropriately to excessive fluctuations, including speculative activities."
