On December 19, the administrative penalty information disclosed on the official website of the People's Bank of China showed that Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) was given a warning and had illegal gains of 4,345,708.57 yuan confiscated, with a fine of 39.615 million yuan. In addition, 17 responsible individuals were also punished. In response to this, ICBC told a reporter from the Securities Times that in 2021 and 2023, the People's Bank of China conducted two law enforcement inspections on ICBC, and this penalty was based on the problems found in the above-mentioned inspections. The issues involved in the penalty all occurred before 2023. ICBC attaches great importance to this matter, thoroughly analyzes the root causes of the problems, and has already completed rectifying all the issues. ICBC will learn from the lesson, adhere to the principles of "preventing risks, strengthening regulation, and promoting high-quality development," strictly regulate its operations, enhance compliance with laws, effectively prevent risks, and continuously improve the quality and efficiency of services.
