The European Commission approves the establishment of a joint venture between a Chinese company and a Romanian company.
The European Commission announced on the 19th that, based on the EU Merger Regulation, it has approved the establishment of a joint venture between CRRC Shandong Electric Power Co., Ltd. of China and Grampet Group of Romania. The transaction primarily involves the manufacturing of railway freight cars. The Commission believes that the business activities of this joint venture in the European Economic Area are limited in scale and will not have any adverse impact on market competition. Therefore, the transaction did not raise any competition concerns and has been reviewed under a simplified merger review procedure.
