Good bargains respond to "multiple closures in succession"
Recently, there have been reports in the media that Haote Mai is gradually closing its stores in core cities such as Guangzhou, Changsha, Hangzhou, and Beijing, and slowing down the pace of opening new stores. Some cities have temporarily halted franchise openings. According to Southern Metropolis Daily, on December 18, Haote Mai stated that store closures are a normal business choice for franchisees or directly operated stores, and currently Haote Mai's overall annual closure rate does not exceed 5%. "Proactively slowing down" is Haote Mai's steady development strategy, not a halt to franchising. Reporters learned from calling stores and over a dozen shopping malls that the Haote Mai store in Shenzhen's Lai Fung Shopping Center closed in November for renovations and will reopen in December; the Haote Mai store in Guangzhou's Lingnan Plaza closed about six months ago due to contract expiration; the Haote Mai store in Beijing's Wanliu Huayi Shopping Center closed in June of this year; the Haote Mai store in Jinhua Yongsheng Shopping Plaza closed in July of this year; the Haote Mai store in Chengdu Longhu Shuxin Tianjie was closed earlier for renovations and will resume business soon; the Haote Mai store in Shaoxing Intime Department Store closed in November. In addition, at least one store in Wuxi, Zhenjiang, Jiaxing, Shijiazhuang, and Harbin closed several months ago.
