The first iconic foreign-funded manufacturing project to land after the border closure, the Siemens Energy gas turbine assembly base and service center has begun construction.
On December 18, Siemens Energy, one of the world's top 500 companies, held a groundbreaking ceremony for its gas turbine assembly plant and service center in Yangpu Economic Development Zone, and simultaneously established Siemens Energy Limited. Feng Fei, the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, announced the start of the project and witnessed the unveiling of the plaque. This is the first gas turbine assembly plant and service center established by Siemens Energy, a leading global energy technology company, in China. It is also the first manufacturing project of a foreign-funded company to land in Hainan Free Trade Port after the island's overall customs clearance. The project is planned to be completed and put into operation by 2027 and will build a comprehensive business system covering assembly, local application verification, spare parts support, and operation and maintenance services. It will further enhance Siemens Energy's global gas turbine assembly and service network and meet the growing demand for gas power generation equipment in China and overseas markets.
