Quanzhou's GDP growth in 2024 ranks first among the "trillion-dollar cities" and is the highest in Fujian province.
On the morning of the 18th, the series of thematic press conferences entitled "Striving to be at the Forefront in China's Modernization Construction, Striving to Write a New Journey, and Building a New Fujian" was held in Fuzhou, Fujian. Zhang Yigong, the Secretary of the Quanzhou Municipal Committee, introduced at the meeting that during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the comprehensive strength of Quanzhou has steadily increased, with the regional GDP surpassing 3 trillion yuan, reaching 1.31 trillion yuan by 2024, ranking first among the "trillion-dollar cities" and in Fujian Province. Per capita GDP exceeds $20,000, and per capita disposable income of residents has increased to 52,000 yuan. The economic structure continues to optimize, with the added value of the tertiary industry accounting for 46.2%, a 4.1 percentage point increase from 2020. The balance of domestic and foreign currency deposits and loans of financial institutions both exceeded 1.2 trillion yuan.
