Building ships in a modular and intelligent way just like making cars - the first batch of LNG-powered new energy ships in the Han River basin has started construction.
On December 16th, the first phase of the intelligent green ship manufacturing base of Hubei Changze Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. was completed, and the first batch of LNG-powered new energy ships in the Han River Basin started construction simultaneously, marking the entry of Han River shipping into the new energy era. The three new energy ships that started construction that day, including one 69-meter self-unloading ship and two 88-meter 3000-ton dual-purpose ships, are all LNG-powered ships with green, intelligent, and standardized characteristics. "We use the segmented construction new technology, just like building cars, modular and intelligent shipbuilding, doubling efficiency," said Xu Yuantao, general manager of Changze Shipbuilding. The company collaborates with Wuhan Shipbuilding Vocational and Technical College to research and develop small and medium-sized new energy ships and standardized ship types in the Han River, reducing the construction period of a single ship from 6 months to 75 days.
