The Federal Aviation Administration of the United States reiterated on the 16th the safety advisory issued to major airlines earlier, stating that caution should be exercised when flying over Venezuelan airspace due to the "deteriorating security situation". The FAA originally issued the advisory on November 21, and when reiterating it to the media on the 16th, the content remained unchanged. The advisory stated that current threats could pose potential risks to all aircraft at high altitudes, including during overflights, takeoff and landing phases, as well as while on the ground at airports.
