Swiss reinsurance company: Global economic losses from natural disasters reduced by 30% by 2025.
One of the world's largest reinsurance companies, Swiss Re, said on the 16th that global economic losses due to natural disasters in 2025 are expected to be $220 billion, a 33% decrease from the previous year. According to Swiss Re's initial estimates, insured property losses from global natural disasters in 2025 are expected to be $107 billion, a 24% decrease from the record-breaking $141 billion in 2024, marking the sixth consecutive year with losses exceeding $100 billion.
