Natural disasters and human disasters strike together! CoreWeave (CRWV.US) AI data center project is delayed, computing power delivery is hindered, exposing operational loopholes.
According to the latest news from the Zhitong Finance and Economics APP, it was revealed by informed sources that earlier this year, the construction progress of a key artificial intelligence data center of the cloud AI computing leader CoreWeave (CRWV.US) in Texas was delayed due to heavy rain weather, causing the completion date to be postponed for several months. It is reported that heavy rain and strong winds caused a delay of about 60 days at a construction site in Denton, Texas, preventing contractors from pouring concrete for the building complex. The data center cluster will provide approximately 260 megawatts of computing power, and CoreWeave plans to lease it to OpenAI. In addition, modifications to the design drawings of some data centers built for CoreWeave by partners in Texas and other areas have also caused further delays.
