Guangzhou: By 2027, the whole city will complete the forest quality improvement and increase the greenery by 1 million mu, constructing a sustainable development ecological infrastructure system.

On the 15th, the People's Government of Guangzhou released the "Outline of the Construction Plan for Beautiful Guangzhou". It proposes to promote the continuous integration of mountains and waters. Relying on the important water systems such as the Pearl River system and ecological corridors, it will build "three vertical and five horizontal" regional ecological corridors, create three-level ecological corridors of "regional-cluster-community", and establish a network of ecological corridors connecting mountains and waters, running through urban areas, and with multiple functions. Relying on the main water systems throughout the city, it will build waterfront greenways and shape a multi-level network of greenways including streams, creeks, rivers, and seas. It will construct open spaces along the Pearl River front channel, the Pearl River rear channel, the Pearl River west channel, and the Dongjiang waterfront, achieve full waterfront connectivity, and create world-class waterfront areas. It will create a landscape corridor where Yunshan and Pearl River are facing each other, and build a skyline that respects nature and is rich in layers. Relying on the central forests such as Maofeng Mountain and Baiyun Mountain, it will build a green heart in the city center. By connecting key nodes of ecological corridors, it will promote the interconnection between large ecological patches, urban parks, and scenic spots, and create a beautiful vision of "forest encircling the city, green corridors weaving the city". By 2027, the city will complete the improvement and greening of 1 million mu of forests, and build a sustainable development system of ecological infrastructure. By 2035, it will coordinate the construction of 4800 kilometers of greenways throughout the city.
