Guangzhou: Promoting the construction of the "1+3+N" urban park integration system with the South China Botanical Garden as the core.
On the 15th, the People's Government of Guangzhou released the "Outline of the Plan for Building a Beautiful Guangzhou". It proposes to build a city with comprehensive parks, and promote the construction of a "1+3+N" urban park integration system with the South China National Botanical Garden as the core. The plan aims to improve the comprehensive park system of "ecological parks - urban parks - community parks - amusement parks", and build a dynamic park city that provides green services for all, inherits and innovates Lingnan gardens, and showcases the diverse Cantonese culture.
The plan also includes creating a brand for Guangzhou parks, excavating and protecting "century-old parks" and "historical famous gardens" with Lingnan characteristics. It plans to build the Haizhu Century Wetland Park, protect the delta composite wetland ecosystem that integrates lakes, rivers, marshes, orchards, and river networks, and construct high-quality value circles for wetlands facing the city center.
Additionally, it will build waterfront parks along the main streams and shores of rivers such as the Liuxi River, Pearl River, Dongjiang River, Baini River, and Humen Waterway. It will efficiently coordinate inefficient urban peripheral areas, road retreat spaces, and other low-efficiency lands, vigorously promote the construction of pocket parks, encourage government agencies, enterprises, and institutions to open their green spaces, create diverse and vibrant park scenes, and establish accessible green spaces for everyone to enjoy.
