Internet celebrities retreat in batches from Hangzhou? Provincial and municipal party media respond in succession.
Recently, the topic of "the mass exodus of Hangzhou internet celebrities" has attracted a lot of attention. In response, the Chao News client under the Zhejiang Daily Newspaper Group and the Hangzhou Daily have published articles addressing this issue. The former believes that this is a "complex situation between subjective perception and objective reality," with the temperature difference stemming from the "common pains of a rapidly growing city." The latter cites industry insiders who suggest that the net inflow of internet celebrities in Hangzhou is still growing. According to media reports, this year in Hangzhou, known as the "first city of internet celebrity economy," there has been a phenomenon of a large number of e-commerce internet celebrities leaving, sparking discussions on whether the "internet celebrity economy" bubble in Hangzhou is bursting. Several media outlets have used the well-known "internet celebrity building" in the area, the Li Jing International Building, as an example. During its peak period, it housed nearly 20,000 anchors and practitioners, with its GDP equivalent to that of a county. However, it has now become desolate, with rents nearly halved and high vacancy rates becoming the norm.
