Vietnam plans to initiate a mid-term review investigation on anti-dumping for Chinese tables, chairs, and accessories.
According to the China Trade Remedies Information Network, on December 12th, the Trade Defense Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam announced that it intends to initiate a mid-term review investigation on the anti-dumping case of tables, chairs, and accessories originating from China. Stakeholders can submit applications for the mid-term review investigation by January 11, 2026. On September 1, 2021, Vietnam initiated an anti-dumping investigation on tables, chairs, and accessories originating from China and Malaysia. On February 17, 2023, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam issued Announcement No. 235/QD-BCT dated February 13, 2023, affirming the case and deciding to impose an anti-dumping duty of 21.4% on chairs and accessories from China, and 35.2% on tables and accessories from China. At the same time, a negative final ruling was made on the products from Malaysia, deciding to terminate the anti-dumping investigation and not impose anti-dumping measures on products from Malaysia; the products involved have Vietnamese tax numbers of 9401.31.00, 9401.39.00, 9401.41.00, 9401.49.00, 9401.61.00, 9401.69.90, 9401.71.00, 9401.79.90, 9401.80.00, and 9403.30.00; the measures will take effect on February 13, 2023.
