The cumulative installed capacity of distributed energy storage in China has reached 3638MW.
On December 16, a report jointly released by the Zhongguancun Energy Storage Industry Technology Alliance and the Natural Resources Conservation Association showed that from 2019 to September 2025, the cumulative installed capacity of distributed energy storage in China increased from 570MW to 3638MW. Since 2024, the growth rate of distributed energy storage has significantly accelerated. Jiangsu, Guangdong, and Zhejiang are the top three provinces in terms of cumulative installed capacity of distributed energy storage, with 642MW, 630MW, and 572MW respectively. In different application scenarios, the proportion of commercial and industrial distributed storage reached 68.70%; followed by grid-side distributed energy storage, accounting for 8.30%; and new energy storage accounting for 7.09%. In terms of technology, lithium-ion batteries account for 92.77% of the installed capacity of distributed energy storage in China.
