The "2060 World and China Energy Outlook Report" was released at the 2025 International Energy Development Summit Forum held recently. The report shows that China's energy structure is becoming more diversified and balanced, with the future 10 years presenting a trend of coal reduction, oil and gas stability, and non-fossil energy growth. Oil is showing an accelerating trend towards materialization and greening, with demand shifting towards the chemical industry and the manufacturing of new materials. Natural gas plays an important role in replacing coal and supporting new types of power systems. According to data from the National Energy Administration, China's crude oil production is expected to reach 215 million tons in 2025, a historic high, while natural gas production could reach 260 billion cubic meters, a 35% increase compared to the end of the "13th Five-Year Plan".
