On the evening of December 14th, in response to the auction of the hand scroll of Guo Moruo's "The Fantastic Sichuan Road", Beijing Poly International Auction Co., Ltd. issued a statement stating that the company attaches great importance to Ms. Guo Shuying's demands and has been in active communication with her. After verification, it was found that the party who consigned the work did hold the said property at the time of consignment, and there were transfer records and purchase agreements at a reasonable market price. The company's collection and auction process for this item comply with auction regulations. The statement also mentioned that "the consignor also issued a statement through the Beijing Qiancheng Law Firm on December 14, 2025. In response to the ownership dispute over the item, we are willing to actively cooperate with the investigation and appreciate the attention of all sectors of society." Prior to this, Guo Moruo's daughter, Guo Shuying, commissioned a lawyer to issue a statement claiming that the work was a gift from her father in 1961 and was part of her private collection, which had never been transferred or authorized. She reported the item missing and questioned the right to auction it, demanding that Poly cease the auction and return the work.
