India approves export of coal from power plants with surplus stock.
On the 12th, the Indian cabinet approved the export of coal from power plants with excess coal stocks. Local media referred to this move as paving the way for further coal exports from India. According to reports, the new policy announced by the Indian cabinet on that day stipulates that power plants in India with coal quotas can export up to 50% of their quota, and can flexibly allocate and use coal between group companies. The Indian cabinet also approved that coal resources obtained through commercial auctions can be widely used for industrial purposes. Previously, India only allowed such coal resources to be used for specific manufacturing industries such as cement and steel.
