Tonight, the president of the Yunnan Provincial Tourism Homestay Industry Association, He Shuangquan, responded through the official account, saying, "We welcome the reasonable competition behavior of OTA platforms. You can make your software more optimized, reduce advertisements, simplify the interface, and make it more convenient to use. But why should you decide what app I like to use? Must I buy things on your platform? Must our homestays join your platform? This is actually something we strongly oppose. Has it already crossed into the realm of monopoly? We actually hope that the platforms become more standardized, that is to say, let a hundred flowers bloom." He also mentioned that the commissions range from 8% to 15%, and many homestays do not have any objections. However, the real issue lies in the hidden platform fees within the industry. "Some OTAs have a comprehensive deduction rate as high as 30% to 40%. We can't help but ask, with such high rates squeezing us, where is the real market space and profit space for homestays?" He bluntly pointed out, "My business income is largely seen as the platform's source of profit, leading to the majority of profits being taken away. Many times, the platform earns more than us, the actual service providers, which truly earns 'sweat money'."
