Fujian Consumer Council issues "Double 12" consumption tips.
The Consumer Council of Fujian Province recently issued a consumer alert, reminding consumers to consume rationally and not to get carried away, and to avoid falling into traps. In recent years, some businesses have created a sense of urgency through marketing tactics such as "limited-time flash sale," "limited quantity purchase," and "discounts on bundled purchases," and have pushed personalized ads through big data analysis. Some consumers blindly hoard goods because they are afraid of missing out on discounts. In response to this, the provincial Consumer Council suggests that consumers make a shopping list based on actual needs, differentiate between "necessities" and "goods to hoard," avoid placing orders impulsively due to promotions, pay attention to price trends, use price comparison tools or historical price query functions, and be wary of false promotions that first raise and then lower prices. In shopping methods such as live streaming and short video "grass planting," some businesses exaggerate the efficacy of their products through the use of exquisite packaging, exaggerated rhetoric, or filter effects, causing consumers to overlook product quality because of "beauty" or "internet celebrity effect." The Consumer Council of Fujian Province reminds consumers to pay attention to key information such as product ingredients, materials, shelf life, and target audience, to avoid being misled by appearance or marketing rhetoric; to comprehensively view product reviews, third-party evaluation platforms, or recommendations from friends and family, and to be vigilant against "faking good reviews" behavior.
