Sarkozy's new book "Diary of a Prisoner" tells about life in prison.
Former French President Sarkozy has published a new book called "Prisoner's Diary," detailing his recent prison experience. The new book not only describes the Paris La Sant prison as a "hell filled with threatening atmosphere," but also discusses Sarkozy's views on various political figures in France. Sarkozy was sentenced to 5 years in prison for the "Libyan political donation case," and was incarcerated at the Paris La Sant prison starting on October 21st, and was released on bail 20 days later. In an interview with the French newspaper Le Figaro, he stated that most of the content of the new book was written in prison, saying, "I wrote every day with a ballpoint pen on a small plywood table," turning his less than 3 weeks in prison into over 200 pages of a new book. "Prisoner's Diary" was officially published on the 10th, and Sarkozy himself held a book signing event at a bookstore, receiving a warm welcome from many supporters.
