On December 8th, the Small Red Card team announced that the "Small Red Card" business will suspend trial operation starting from January 1, 2026. The official response from Xiaohongshu stated that this suspension only involves the Small Red Card, and other local life functions and services provided by Xiaohongshu for users and merchants are not affected. Local life stores can continue to join. Xiaohongshu will still focus on professional accounts, POIs, maps, and other basic infrastructure to provide operational tools for local life merchants, help merchants acquire customers on Xiaohongshu. The announcement showed that resources will be focused on local life content influence, improving local life transaction products and tools, helping users discover quality local attractions, and striving to make everyone think of searching and browsing on Xiaohongshu when making local life consumption decisions.
