In November, China's urban rail transit completed a passenger volume of 2.83 billion trips.
According to the Ministry of Transport, as of November 2025, a total of 54 cities in 31 provinces and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps have opened and operated 334 urban rail transit lines, with a total operating mileage of 11,389.7 kilometers. There were 3.62 million train trips, serving a total of 2.83 billion passengers, with 1.68 billion passengers entering the stations. In November, passenger volume increased by 0.1 billion compared to the previous month, a growth of 0.4%, and increased by 1.2 billion compared to the same period last year, a growth of 4.4%. The average passenger transport intensity of total operating mileage nationwide in November was 0.832 million passengers per kilometer per day, an increase of 3.5% compared to the previous month, but a decrease of 3.3% compared to the same period last year. Among them, 43 cities have opened and operated subway and light rail lines totaling 275, with an operating mileage of 9,898.5 kilometers, serving 2.73 billion passengers and 1.61 billion entering the stations; 16 cities have opened and operated monorail, maglev, and urban rapid rail transit lines totaling 25, with an operating mileage of 970.7 kilometers, serving 82.83 million passengers and 55.97 million entering the stations; and 18 cities have opened and operated tram and automatic guided rail lines totaling 34, with an operating mileage of 520.5 kilometers, serving 11.37 million passengers and 16.42 million entering the stations.
