Reporters learnt from the Beijing immigration checkpoint that at 00:08 on December 6th, the total number of inbound and outbound personnel at Beijing's ports exceeded 20 million, which is 1.1 times the total for the whole of last year, representing an 18% year-on-year increase. In terms of mainland residents' inbound and outbound situation, as of December 6th, more than 12.9 million mainland residents have chosen to enter and exit through Beijing's ports, about 1.1 times the same period last year. In terms of foreigners entering and exiting the country, as of December 6th, more than 6 million foreigners have entered and exited through Beijing's ports, accounting for 30% of the total number of inbound and outbound personnel, representing a 34.5% year-on-year increase. Among them, 1.859 million foreigners entered the country under visa waiver and temporary entry permit policies, which is 1.9 times the same period last year and accounts for 60% of the total number of inbound foreigners. Most foreign visitors come to China for tourism, accounting for nearly half of the total, followed by business conferences and visiting relatives and friends.
