Founder of the American private equity firm Thoma Bravo, Orlando Bravo, stated that the rapid development of artificial intelligence technology is causing significant anxiety among investors. This is because companies find it difficult to determine which tech companies are worth investing in. Bravo pointed out at a forum event in Miami on Friday that the AI boom has sparked strong "fear of missing out" sentiment in the private equity market, leading some institutions to make hasty decisions that they may regret later. He also noted that in the public market, investors are trading these companies based on PE multiples, and "if you are not profitable, your stock price will be penalized." Bravo mentioned that fund investors are showing noticeable hesitation towards AI investments, concerned about overvaluation or excessive risk in the field. "Some of the world's top LP institutions are choosing to wait and see like never before. This is the first time I have seen this in my 30 years," he said, adding that investors want a better understanding of the products before moving forward with transactions.
