Britain and Germany cooperate to promote research and development of quantum technology.
Britain and Germany announced on the 5th they will deepen cooperation in science and innovation, jointly investing 14 million pounds to advance quantum technology research and unlock the potential applications of this technology in fields such as medicine, computing, and network security. According to the British government, the cooperation funding will be used for two parts: establishing the UK-Germany Quantum Research Joint Fund, with half of the funding coming from each country's relevant agencies, and it is expected to launch project applications in early 2026; supporting the Fraunhofer Institute's Applied Photonics Center in Glasgow, UK to promote the transition of quantum technology from the laboratory to commercial applications.
