On the morning of December 5th, 2026, the torch relay celebration of the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics was held at the Quirinale Palace Square in the Italian capital of Rome. The sacred flame was collected in Ancient Olympia, Greece on November 26th and completed a 9-day, 2200-kilometer relay within Greece, with over 450 torchbearers participating. On the morning of the 4th, the sacred flame had a formal handover ceremony at the Panathenaic Stadium in Athens, completing the transfer to the Milan Winter Olympics Organizing Committee. In the afternoon of the 4th, a flight carrying the Olympic flame arrived in Rome.
