Joint Declaration between the People's Republic of China and the French Republic on Cooperation to Address Global Climate and Environmental Challenges
China and France reiterated their firm commitment to uphold science as the basis for actions by all parties, support the work of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services, and the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Chemicals, Waste and Pollution, to safeguard the integrity of information on climate and environmental issues. The two countries call on all parties to adhere to the goals and principles established in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, the Kyoto Protocol, and the Paris Agreement, including the principles of fairness, common but differentiated responsibilities, and respective capabilities, taking into account different national circumstances, linking efforts towards sustainable development and poverty eradication, honoring and implementing existing commitments, especially in mitigation and adaptation.
