Scientists from the University of Duisburg-Essen in Germany recently published a paper in the journal "Frontiers of Bioengineering and Biotechnology" stating that they have developed an automated preparation method for mass production of miniature lung-like organs. These organoids contain a microstructure of real lung cells and can more effectively test experimental drugs, predict patient responses to radiation therapy, and do not require the use of animal materials.
