On December 4th local time, India's largest airline, IndiGo Airlines, cancelled more than 180 flights at the major airports of New Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore, causing great inconvenience to travelers. The airline had already cancelled at least 150 flights the day before. IndiGo Airlines stated that the main reason for the flight delays and cancellations was the new regulations regarding pilot duty and rest hours. The company is working to adapt to the strict new crew scheduling regulations, and announced on the 3rd that they will gradually adjust the flight schedule for the next 48 hours.
