General Administration of Customs and three other departments jointly issue a notice on the trial implementation of the classification management of imported food and drug substances.
In order to continuously optimize the business environment at ports, support the development of import trade in food and drugs, the General Administration of Customs, the National Health Commission, the State Administration for Market Regulation, and the National Medical Products Administration have decided to implement classified management for the import of some food and drug substances on a trial basis. Enterprises importing food and drug substances under the trial must operate in accordance with laws and regulations, clearly declare the intended use of the products when going through import customs procedures, and take responsibility for truthfully declaring information in accordance with the law. For items listed in the "Trial Implementation Catalogue of Import Classification Supervision of Food and Drug Substances," import declarations for medical use must submit an "Import Drug Customs Declaration Form," while those for other purposes are exempt from submitting the form.
