Delta Airlines said that the recent government shutdown would reduce its pre-tax profit for the December quarter by as much as $200 million, equivalent to a decrease in earnings per share of about $0.25. While there was a temporary softness in November, demand for the December quarter remains healthy. After experiencing a slowdown due to the government shutdown, growth in travel bookings has returned to its initial expected levels.
