The number of motor vehicles in Hubei Province has reached 16.37 million, ranking first in the country in terms of comprehensive transportation network mileage.

On December 1st, the theme publicity event of "National Traffic Safety Day" was held in Hubei Province. The event announced the big data of road traffic safety travel in Hubei Province in 2025. It is reported that as of now, the total number of motor vehicles and drivers in Hubei Province has reached 16.37 million vehicles and 21.09 million people respectively, with an increase of 3.57% and 1.7% compared to the previous year. The total mileage of comprehensive transportation route network and highways in the province has exceeded 310,800 kilometers and 8,124 kilometers respectively, ranking first in the country. The average daily traffic volume in the province has reached 9.2826 million vehicles, with a year-on-year increase of 8.99%. The number of fatalities in road traffic accidents and the congestion index of urban roads during peak hours have both shown a downward trend compared to last year, reflecting the further improvement of road traffic safety in Hubei Province.
