The State Council Taiwan Affairs Office held a regular press conference. A reporter asked: The White House announced on the 2nd that US President Trump has officially signed a bill related to Taiwan, what is the response of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council? Spokesperson Zhang Han of the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office said, "We resolutely oppose any form of official contact between the United States and Taiwan. This position is consistent and clear. The relevant so-called bill of the US blatantly interferes in China's internal affairs, seriously violates the one-China principle and the spirit of the three Sino-US joint communiques, and sends a serious wrong signal to the 'Taiwan independence' separatist forces. We express strong dissatisfaction and firm opposition to this, and urge the US to abide by the serious political commitments made on the Taiwan issue and not have any form of official contact with Taiwan."
