The founder of American personal computer manufacturer Dell, Michael Dell, and his wife Susan announced that they will donate $6.25 billion to help open investment accounts for most American children. According to the Dells, this donation is built upon President Trump's "Invest in America" plan in the "Big and Beautiful" Act - to establish $1,000 tax-deferred investment accounts for all American children born during the 2025 period, also known as "Trump accounts". The Dells' $6.25 billion donation will be managed by the U.S. Treasury Department, to open accounts for 25 million children under the age of 10 who do not qualify for government funding, and each new account will receive $250. In an interview, Michael Dell stated that their plan prioritizes postal codes with median household incomes below $150,000, and is expected to benefit 80% of American children in the same age group. As of the closing of the U.S. stock market, Dell Technologies rose 2.91% to $135.94 per share.
