The stock price of Airbus fell more than 10% during trading on the Paris stock exchange on December 1st, before narrowing its losses. Prior to this, Airbus had issued a statement saying that a significant number of A320 series aircraft needed to be grounded due to their flight control software being vulnerable to strong sunlight radiation. On December 1st, Airbus stated that the majority of the approximately 6,000 aircraft worldwide that could be affected had already completed the necessary technical work. Airbus is now assisting airlines in getting the remaining few dozen planes back in operation as soon as possible. In a statement provided to Xinhua News Agency reporters, Airbus announced that as of November 30th, all A320 series aircraft in the Chinese civil aviation fleet that required precautionary measures as per regulatory requirements and Airbus directives had completed the necessary work. Airbus once again expressed deep apologies for the inconvenience caused to airlines and passengers.
