Our scientists comprehensively simulated the Martian dust cycle.

According to the Chinese Academy of Sciences Institute of Atmospheric Physics, the research team of the institute has successfully developed the Mars atmospheric circulation model GoMars. Based on this model, the research team conducted a systematic simulation study on the Martian dust cycle, comprehensively simulating the Martian dust cycle, focusing on the multi-time scale variability of the dust cycle, and successfully simulating the most challenging interannual variability, which is one of the recognized difficulties in Martian atmospheric simulation. In addition, the study effectively evaluated the simulation performance of GoMars, laying a key foundation for future reliable Martian weather forecasting and climate prediction. The related research results have been published in the academic journal "Advances in Atmospheric Sciences."
