According to US media reports on the 6th, police in Oakland, California, are currently investigating a cargo theft case involving tech company NVIDIA Corporation (NVDA.US). The stolen items were AI chips and computer hardware, valued at up to US$11.4 million (approximately RMB76.1 million). Analysts said this may be a carefully planned theft targeting a high-tech company. Case details show that a truck loaded with NVIDIA Corporation cargo departed from Oakland, California, on August 29 this year, originally bound for Fort Worth, Texas. The pickup process followed the original arrangements, but the truck ultimately lost contact, and the victim reported the case to police on September 13. Police tracking found that the truck made multiple stops along the way, with single stops lasting as long as several hours, and ultimately disappeared in San Bernardino County in southeastern California. As of now, police have not arrested any suspects. Experts also said that these chips sell for nearly twice the US domestic price outside the United States, and the possibility that the stolen goods have already been transported out of the country cannot be ruled out. It is reported that this is not the first time NVIDIA Corporation has encountered a cargo theft incident. Experts said the scale and complexity of such cases indicate that the criminal methods involved are becoming increasingly professional, and the transportation security risks of high-value tech products are gradually becoming more prominent.
