Lens Technology (06613) extended its recent decline, hitting a new low of HK$13.09 intraday, with the stock down more than 40% year-to-date. As of press time, it was down 5.73% at HK$13.16, with turnover of HK$199 million.
On the news front, Lens Technology reported revenue of RMB19.035 billion in the third quarter of this year, down 8.05% year-on-year; net profit attributable to shareholders was RMB843 million, down 50.42% year-on-year. The decline was mainly attributed to pressure on end demand caused by rising memory prices, delayed new product launches by major customers, and foreign exchange losses. In the first nine months of this year, Lens Technology's foreign exchange losses amounted to RMB654 million, compared with foreign exchange gains of RMB115 million in the same period last year.
It is worth noting that Lens Technology's expansion into multiple business lines still faces challenges such as long investment return cycles. Although the company has continued to expand into automotive, Siasun Robot&Automation, and AI server businesses in recent years, in the first half of this year, its phone- and computer-related businesses still accounted for 77.54% of total revenue. According to statistics from multiple third-party institutions, under the supply chain price increase trend, global mobile phone market shipments came under clear pressure in the third quarter.
