Shandong Gold Mining (01787) fell nearly 4% after its results. As of press time, it was down 3.15% at HK$16.62, with turnover of HK$89.2458 million. On the news front, Shandong Gold Mining announced that its third-quarter operating revenue was RMB36.913 billion, up 36.63% year-on-year; net profit recorded a loss of RMB363 million, swinging from a net profit of RMB2.097 billion in the second quarter. Net profit for the first three quarters was RMB3.181 billion, down 19.60% year-on-year. The change in performance was mainly due to a decline in the company's self-produced gold output and lower sales volume. It is understood that Shandong Gold Mining previously adjusted its 2026 production and operation plan, revising its mineral gold output target from no less than 49 tonnes to 36-38 tonnes. The reasons for the adjustment include the impact on output from safety self-inspections following industry safety accidents in the first half of the year, as well as increased efforts in domestic mine infrastructure construction in the second half. BOCI said that after incorporating the company's updated production guidance, it lowered its 2026 core earnings per share forecast by 22%.
