HKEX (00388) has launched platform and agent services for its Integrated Fund Platform, adding master distribution, agent and administrative services to further extend the platform's functions across the entire fund distribution process. Speaking at the launch ceremony, Group Chief Executive Chan Yiting said the group has noticed that global investors are currently re-examining their capital allocation, and the new services are well positioned to respond to the structural shift of global capital continuing to flow into Asia. Chan believes the new services mark another important step by the group in improving fund distribution efficiency and reducing distribution costs. She noted that a diverse range of funds is an important component of Hong Kong's financial product ecosystem, affecting the wealth of millions of households, and expressed the hope that the group's Integrated Fund Platform can help all kinds of fund products reach households faster and more conveniently, becoming important infrastructure for Hong Kong's wealth management center. In the future, HKEX will continue to work closely with regulators and industry partners to continuously optimize Integrated Fund Platform services and make due contributions to building Hong Kong into a wealth management center. Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury Hui Ching-yu said that as the world's largest cross-border wealth management center, Hong Kong's total assets under management actually reached HK$42.2 trillion as of the end of last year. To consolidate and enhance Hong Kong's competitiveness as an international asset and wealth management center, the government has in recent years actively promoted the core policy of optimizing the preferential tax regime, and the relevant bill was submitted to the Legislative Council in June this year. He added that the Integrated Fund Platform launched a fund database in December 2024 and an order transmission service in July last year, and he personally extended heartfelt congratulations on the launch of the platform's new services today. Hui believes that comprehensively promoting the development of fund distribution will help reduce operational friction, improve market efficiency, and lower distribution thresholds for fund managers through more standardized channels. Looking ahead, the government will continue to work closely with HKEX, the Securities and Futures Commission and industry partners to ensure the platform delivers tangible benefits to fund managers, distributors and investors.
