On the news front, Citi issued a research report noting that the Japan Machine Tool Builders' Association released order data for major Japanese machine tool manufacturers for September 2026. Tsugami Japan's export orders grew 100% year-on-year, compared with 105% in August; the month-on-month trend also improved from a 29% decline in August to a 26% increase in September, indicating that order conditions are better than market concerns.
The bank noted that Tsugami Japan stated that demand in areas such as China's data centers, semiconductors, and humanoid robots remains strong, with orders continuing to exceed total production capacity, which is similar to what TSUGAMI CHINA's management said. As Tsugami Japan's export orders for the first half of fiscal 2027 (April to September 2026) grew about 100% year-on-year, the bank is confident that its forecast of 34% year-on-year profit growth for TSUGAMI CHINA in the first half of fiscal 2027 ending September can be achieved, and reiterated a "Buy" rating with a target price of HK$72 amid bearish market sentiment.
