HK Express Sees 45% Year-on-Year Increase in Mainland China Inbound Passenger Traffic to Hong Kong During National Day Golden Week

During this year's National Day Golden Week holiday (October 1 to 7), HK Express, a subsidiary of CATHAY PAC AIR (00293), saw a 45% year-on-year increase in mainland China inbound passenger traffic to Hong Kong; the number of mainland passengers transiting through Hong Kong on HK Express flights to other Asian destinations also increased 1.6 times year-on-year. October 2 was the peak travel day, with over 13,000 mainland passengers carried to and from Hong Kong in a single day. HK Express said the performance of its six mainland routes during the period was also satisfactory, reflecting stable overall demand for mainland routes. Among them, the Wuxi route continued to record ideal performance, with an average load factor of 85% from the route's launch through October 7.
