Gaming stocks rebounded this morning. As of press time, GALAXY ENT (00027) rose 3.79% to HK$31.8; MELCO INT'L DEV (00200) rose 3.68% to HK$2.68; MGM CHINA (02282) rose 3.37% to HK$9.52; and Sands China (01928) rose 2.45% to HK$11.29.
On the news front, Macau will welcome multiple cultural and sports events in October. Among them, the NBA China Games 2026 will be held on October 9 and 11 at The Venetian Arena in Macau. Citi previously noted in a research report that multiple large-scale events and concerts are expected to reignite a recovery in gaming revenue.
In addition, according to preliminary data, from October 1 to 7, 2026, total inbound visitor arrivals to Macau reached 1.143 million, averaging 163,000 per day, up 15.5% from the average daily visitor volume during the 2025 National Day holiday. Single-day inbound visitor arrivals on October 4 reached 210,000, with both the average daily and single-day visitor volumes setting record highs for the National Day holiday since records began.
