Fortune released its third annual Most Powerful Women in Business in Asia list on October 7, with Hong Kong women standing out in forceas many as 16 top female leaders made the list. HKEX (00388) Chief Executive Officer Chan Yiting was named for the third consecutive year, climbing to No. 5 this time. Notably, Chan Yiting and Watsons Group Group Chief Executive Officer Ni Wenling (No. 6) were the only two Hong Kong representatives to make Fortune's Most Powerful Women 2026 Top 100 globally, ranking No. 15 and No. 20 respectively.
Another focal point of this year's list fell on two sisters from the casino tycoon's family. Ho Chiu-king and Ho Chiu-fung both made the list, entering as representatives of different regions: Ho Chiu-king (No. 26) was listed as a Hong Kong representative and heads MGM CHINA, while her younger sister Ho Chiu-fung (No. 27) was selected as a Macau representative and helms SJM HOLDINGS.
In the 2026 list, DBS Group Chief Executive Officer Tan Su Shan retained the top spot, while Grace Wang held steady at No. 2. Tech entrepreneur Zhou Qunfei jumped 25 places this year to No. 3, one of the most eye-catching ranking changes on this year's list, highlighting the growing influence of female leaders in the technology industry in Asia's business world.
The list covers 14 markets in the Asia-Pacific region. Mainland China had the most entrants with 18, followed by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region with 16 and Singapore with 12. Other markets on the list included Thailand (9), India (7), Japan (6), Australia (6), Vietnam (5), Malaysia (5), South Korea (4), the Philippines (4), Taiwan, China (3), Indonesia (3), and the Macau Special Administrative Region (2).
