On Tuesday, Constellation Energy (CEG.US) surged over 12% to $301.57. According to news reports, Google (Alphabet Inc. Class C) announced on October 6 local time that it had reached a long-term strategic energy partnership with U.S. energy company Constellation with a total scale of 3.59GW. It is divided into two parts: 890MW of new nuclear capacity, expected to come online between 2028 and 2032, lasting 20 years; and 2.7GW of any capacity, lasting 15 years. With funding support from Alphabet Inc. Class C, Constellation will upgrade its 11 nuclear units across multiple states and create approximately 7,200 construction jobs during the engineering and construction period. As part of a package of commercial agreements, Constellation also built a five-year expanded technology alliance with Alphabet Inc. Class C Cloud and Gemini Enterprise, aiming to establish an "energy AI" blueprint to accelerate capacity delivery, optimize asset dispatch, and protect critical infrastructure.
