As SpaceX and Tesla shares have both risen recently, Elon Musk, the world's richest person, has once again seen his personal fortune surpass $1 trillion.
As SpaceX (SPCX.US) and Tesla, Inc. (TSLA.US) shares have both risen recently, the world's richest person Musk's personal wealth has once again surpassed $1 trillion. According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Musk's net worth increased by $65 billion in a single day on Monday to $1.04 trillion, returning to the trillion-dollar mark after three months. Since October, SpaceX shares have risen 13% cumulatively, while Tesla, Inc. gained 6.7% over the same period. Musk, now 55, first became the world's first person whose net worth surpassed $1 trillion in June this year. At that time, SpaceX's shares surged after completing a record-breaking initial public offering (IPO), driving his wealth up rapidly. However, as market concerns over SpaceX's high valuation intensified, the company's stock price subsequently fell sharply, and Musk quickly lost the "trillionaire" title. By the end of July, his personal wealth had shrunk by more than $600 billion from its peak, a decline exceeding the entire net worth of any other person on the Bloomberg Global 500 Rich List in history except Musk himself. SpaceX's recent strong rebound has once again become an important driver of Musk's wealth growth. The stock has now rebounded 58% from its August low. On Monday, Morgan Stanley analysts said SpaceX is one of the lowest-cost ways to participate in "strong optional growth opportunities" in the space and intelligence sectors, further boosting market optimism toward the company spanning space, artificial intelligence, and social media. Meanwhile, Tesla, Inc.'s third-quarter electric vehicle sales announced last week came in better than market expectations, indicating a recovery in its automotive business and also providing support for the stock price. According to the Bloomberg Wealth Index, Musk's SpaceX and Tesla, Inc. holdings together account for more than 98% of his net worth. This also means that changes in his wealth are highly dependent on the market performance of the two companies. With SpaceX's sharp rebound from its August low and Tesla, Inc.'s recent strength, Musk's personal wealth has now returned to above $1 trillion.
