In August, the average occupancy rate of guest rooms in Macao's hotel establishments was 93.9%, up 0.8 percentage points year-on-year.
In the first eight months of this year, the average occupancy rate of guest rooms in Macao's hotel establishments rose by 1.1 percentage points year-on-year to 91.0%, while the number of guests decreased by 1.6% to 9.64 million.
Data from the Statistics and Census Service of the Macao SAR show that in August 2026, the average occupancy rate of guest rooms in Macao's hotel establishments rose by 0.8 percentage points year-on-year to 93.9%. Among them, the occupancy rates of 4-star (94.4%) and 3-star (91.1%) hotels increased by 5.4 and 1.2 percentage points respectively, while the occupancy rate of 5-star hotels (95.1%) fell by 0.5 percentage points.
In August this year, the number of guests in Macao's hotel establishments fell by 2.6% year-on-year to 1.270 million. Guests from mainland China (978,000) and the Hong Kong SAR (136,000) decreased by 1.3% and 11.0% respectively. International guests (86,000) fell by 2.9% year-on-year, with Korean guests (27,000) decreasing by 3.6%, while American guests (5,000) increased by 31.5%.
In August, there were 178,000 inbound package-tour visitors, up 14.4% year-on-year. Package-tour visitors from mainland China increased by 25.0% to 164,000.
In the first eight months of this year, the average occupancy rate of guest rooms in Macao's hotel establishments rose by 1.1 percentage points year-on-year to 91.0%, while the number of guests decreased by 1.6% to 9.640 million. International guests totaled 838,000, an increase of 10.4%. On the other hand, the total number of inbound package-tour visitors in the first eight months fell by 8.2% year-on-year to 1.169 million.
