Insilico Medicine (03696) announced that, driven by the company's proprietary generative AI platform, it has nominated ISM1354, a potential best-in-class, next-generation small molecule glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide receptor (GIPR) antagonist, as a preclinical candidate compound (PCC), potentially for intervention in obesity, type 2 diabetes, and related diseases, with the potential to expand into the cardiovascular disease field.
INSILICO (03696) announced that, driven by INSILICO's proprietary generative AI platform, the company has nominated ISM1354, a potential best-in-class, next-generation small molecule glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide receptor (GIPR) antagonist, as a preclinical candidate compound (PCC), potentially for intervention in obesity, type 2 diabetes and related diseases, and with potential expansion into the cardiovascular disease field. In January of this year, the company announced the nomination of another GIPR antagonist, ISM0676, which achieved up to 31.3% weight loss when combined with semaglutide in humanized mouse models. In comparison, the newly nominated PCC not only maintains favorable drug-like properties, but has also undergone multi-dimensional optimization in terms of pharmacokinetics (PK) and safety profiles. To date, INSILICO has announced the nomination of 10 PCCs within the first 9 months of 2026, setting a new historical record for the company's annual pipeline output and bringing the total number of PCCs nominated since 2021 to 34, thereby validating the R&D efficiency of generative AI through reproducible real-world cases.
